Organic foods and The Mediterranean Diet

More and more individuals are finally beginning to understand the power of the Mediterranean diet as it applies to whole foods and organic produce. And as more individuals in the United States begin to realize the danger of processed foods they are finally switching over to healthy eating through whole food diet plans such as the Mediterranean diet.

One of the only organic diet plans known to man, with over 70% of the nutrition in the food coming from natural sources like raw vegetables and fruits, the Mediterranean diet eliminates all elements of processed junk. There are no flavor additives, no artificial coloring included to create something more visually appealing, there is simply raw, natural, whole food.

Perhaps most challenging component of the Mediterranean diet is that you cannot simply peel the wrapper off of something to put it into your mouth. Instead, you actually have to spend time in the kitchen preparing whole foods the way nature intended. In a day and age when people would rather be watching the latest episode of Jersey Shore, it takes some modifications to the lifestyle.

Thankfully, you don't have to spend a lot of time in the kitchen to prepare Mediterranean diet recipes. Since the vast majority of the recipes within the diet plan are based on whole foods such as fruits and vegetables, everything is quick and simple and can be put together in a matter of just a few moments. The only time you might need to cook something is with fish, which still only takes around 15 minutes.

All you have to do if you need more proof about the power of the Mediterranean diet is to simply take a look at the people living in the Mediterranean region of the world. None of them are fat, none of them are suffering from diseases like diabetes, and they live significantly longer than their American counterparts. If you are looking for a whole foods diet plan, this is the first and last place you need to look.
